Welcome to Stockley Farm
Here at Stockley Farm we offer schools and teaching establishments a unique learning opportunity. Our exceptional facilities and resources enable us to deliver educational visits to both Primary and Secondary Schools and to offer more specific based educational packages to Colleges and Universities. With over twenty years experience Stockley Farm would like to offer you the following packages for 2009 that have been designed to make learning interactive and exciting with a real “hands on approach”.
Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1
Children visiting Stockley Farm for the first time will experience a day full of fun activities. Meet and feed the animals, bottle feed the baby lambs or goats and jump on the tractor and trailer for a ride which includes a walk through our nature trial. During the visit children will see a wide selection of farm animals as well as the horses and ponies and the birds of prey, your visit includes a trip to our Pets corner where children have the opportunity to hold a selection of baby animals. After lunch there will be time to enjoy our excellent play facilities before the afternoon activities commence. Children are given the opportunity to make a book mark and we also offer a selection of optional talks designed to meet the educational requirements of Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 1. We are happy to work with individual schools if there is a specific subject area or topic you would like us to cover. Other seasonal talks are available.

Christmas 2009
Christmas is a very special time of year at Stockley Farm. Children can meet and feed the animals, visit Father Christmas in his winter wonderland, enjoy a festive tractor and trailer ride and take part in our live nativity story. Early booking is essential.

Key Stage 1 and 2 - Curriculum Workshops

Designed to cover more specific subject areas on the National Curriculum, Stockley Farm is offering ‘On Farm Workshops’. We have adopted a flexible approach to teaching depending on the needs of individual classes and can combine subjects or do a whole day on one topic area. We are able to work to National Curriculum Attainment Targets and can link topics to QCA schemes of work. We aim to cover relevant topic areas but our main aim is to make learning interactive with practical sessions throughout the day. Subjects currently available include: Food and Farming, Interdependence and Adaptation, Organic Farming, Taking Care of Animals and Life processes and Living things.
GCSE and ‘A’ Level
Stockley Farm is a mixed organic dairy and arable farm. The business incorporates the Open
Visitor Attraction and Riverford on Stockley Farm Organics. The diversity of the business allows us to offer GCSE and ‘A’ level studies in the following subjects; Geography Studies, Food and Farming, Organic farming, Leisure and Tourism, Business Studies and Science based subjects for example Selective Breeding in Plants and Animals.
The sessions are taught by relevant experts who have years of experience working in agriculture including horticulturalists and animal husbandry specialists. Stockley Farm is a valuable resource for learning and can adapt a day specifically to a subject area of your choice. The following review is from Corpus Christi Catholic Sports College, Year 11, who visited on a Geography Trip in October 2008.

“Our day was thoroughly enjoyed by pupils and staff alike. All our needs were catered for, particularly as we had specific curriculum requirements on the applied science course. The pupils themselves commented on how they found the hands on approach to learning great fun and had learned so much”.
Helen Cameron, Head of Geography.
